Ricoh 450e transfer belt code question

I am going out of town on a call in the morning on a Ricoh 450e which is throwing an SC405. I know this code means the transfer belt is not moving away from the drum after the ID patch is read. Aside from the transfer belt position sensor ... what other items could come into play? Is there some unrelated problem which could throw that code which I should know about?

    Thanks

I have had the Transport Belt Arm (A2323893) crack before (but that produced a lot of noise; not sure about any error code though).
If it was me I would take a Transfer Unit with me and also the Transfer Unit Clutch (A2322379).

      Per the Goose Guide:

[SC405] - gear that drives transfer position clutch installed backwards

I've never seen this, and unless they've had someone else working on it probably not the issue. Could be a drive line or clutch issue.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.

I think Gary was bang on with his diagnosis, transfer belt contact clutch (A2322379).

I've had a few of these go on the Adonis-C2 as well.

Is the machine making a clunking noise as it's camming the transfer unit in and out?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

Well, I went to the call and the customer told me that the machine popped the code about 30 copies. Humph, I thought that sounded a lot like every process control and not randomly while making copies.

Anyway, I open the transfer unit cover and the transfer belt is rippled like crazy (like it was being twisted). I took it apart and it appeared it had been service by someone not too long ago; very little waste toner and very clean rollers. I cleaned everything up, including the t-belt home sensor behind the flywheel, and put a new transfer belt on. Ran a few copies ... looked and the new belt was tracking fine and no rippling.

Had the customer work the hell out of it for about twenty minutes and we were both convinced the problem was solved. HOWEVER. I still have the new clutch in my custody just in case. I appreciate the advice ... sure makes a difference going in with a little tech support behind you. Thanks.

I thought I'd follow up on this. Ok, I am a hard head. I got called back ... same code. I still had the new transfer belt clutch so I put it on and fixed the problem. I should of listened to you guys the first time. Well, live and learn. Thanks again for all the help.

There's a waste tank in there? You should have told all of the techs I followed behind to fix their problems.

What a mess they cause when they get packed in there.
