C2551 and Win10 - Scan to Folder issues

I know this topic has been covered before, and I've tried all the fixes that others have found. This C2551 pretty much refuses to communicate with any of the PCs connected to its network when it comes to scanning to folder. Print jobs work just fine, however. The connected PCs do not have password controlled user accounts at all, but refuses to show folders when looking through the network on the manual search function on scanning. It will either give me an error about the authentication being invalid or the destination could not be searched. I'm returning to try to the WIM, but something tells me I won't have much luck. I must be missing something here.

It is updated to 10.63, that's the bizarre thing. I'm going over the other firmware I might have missed to see if that helps, but I don't think it will.

set up the user with a password
set the path to \\ip address of pc \folder you want to scan to

make sure the folder is shared with everyone and it has read and write permissions

iirc Vista and newer Window's OS's require a password if you want SMB scanning to work

Thank you for the replies. I should have guessed since all the other workstations i have had to connect had passwords for their user accounts.

if its windows 10 it has to be pro version and not home edition. home edition isn't supported for scanning. I had this about a month ago. customer upgraded to pro version and scan to folder works now.

Never had a problem with any Windows Home Versions. Have Win10 on one of my laptops, and PC's
                and scan all the time

SMB is the same in all versions of Windows. The primary differences between Home and Professional are the ability to join an Active Directory domain, and the corresponding Group Policy Objects that domains use, as well as BitLocker for drive encryption.

Generally, the issues with scan to SMB on a Home version of Windows are an incorrect Workgroup name, incorrect set up for share permissions, or poorly configured AV.
