ricoh aficio mp c2500 laser question

there is a procedure to follow when installing a replacement laser in this unit. it asks for a number to be put in the sp mode that comes with the laser. we could not find one on the replacement we received. is this number on the laser or supplied on paper with the laser? replaced a laser and the color is off. thanks in advance

I believe (a new) Laser housing unit would come with a piece of paper with the numbers. However, I have a feeling you're referring to the polygon motor only. Is that the case?
Either way, running the line position adjustment:
SP2-111-003 then SP2-111-001 (twice) , will probably resolve your problems.
P.S....An upload of the colour test page from Printer SP mode is always helpful in these situations

it is the whole housing we were replacing. we will try the simulations next. we got the laser as a refurb, did not notice the paper but it may have been in the box. thank you for the help, will post back after trying the sims

Doubt a 'refurb' would ever include that.
Afterall, what is a supposed refurb of an (electronic) unit like that other than a cleaning?
By the way... What was the reason for replacement in the first place?

My guess would be that if the refurbishing process included replacing the Laser Diode(s) then they may have included the sheet(s). In some cases it is a stick on label on the individual laser diode(s). If lasers were not replaced, the only way they would have the information would be if the person that they got it from to be refurbished gave them the non default printout.
