Clean all, mirror, lens, and cis, but the problem persists.
Ricoh recommends changing the optical group but is very expensive

      Thanks

Clean the optics mirror (total 3) with clean cloth.

I don't see a problem on the PDF printouts, probably due to it's loss of QA (due to republishing?).
I think what you mean is that the problem only exist in copying or scanning and not in printing mode.
So, perhaps the scanner part of the MFP was bend; this sometimes happens when a person has leant on the left front side of the MFP.
So, switch off the machine and carefully lift the scanner up (at the left front side of the scanner).
But you need to be shure if that is the problem before you do this!
It could also be a defective IPU (swap with an other c5002 to be shure).
