energy save light on solid then flickers and then the fuser cycles making noises releasing pressure on the fusing rollers about every 30 seconds when it is in the sleep mode. I have 3 machines doing this. Firmware has been updated and even tried new NVRAM any idea?

Re: mp c3002 & 5502 cycles fuser in energy save mode about every 30 seconds
Most machines do cycle the fusing unit while in sleep mode to prevent flat spots on the pressure roller, but every 30 seconds seems a bit much. There might be a SP setting for the time.
Also, disconnect it from the network for a few minutes and see if the problem stops. If it does, some on the network is hitting and it thinks it is getting a print job. You might need to monitor network activity to it with a utility such as Wireshark.Comment

Re: mp c3002 & 5502 cycles fuser in energy save mode about every 30 seconds
Check Sp mode 1151 values 2 3 & 4. Some machines where sent out with the INITIAL value incorrect (somewhere around 2,500 instead of approx 500 to 800). I had on that was correctly set to its intial and was randomly cycling the fuser pressure drive. I checked a known good machine and input the 3 values and all was well. Worth a look.Comment
