    MP4500 B&W

Hi Guys... I am at a MP4500 thats networked. The prints are dark with great copy quality, however the copies are about 5 shades lighter than the prints. In order to attempt to rectify this I have cleaned the whole of the inside of the scanner but no results Am I to replace the scanner to check further? Pls let me have some suggestions I can do prior to this. Thanks in advance.

Are you getting any SC codes ?
Did you clean the white reference plate?
These are an old model machine the white reference plate may be fading causing over compensation...

Perform a PM. Odd thing with many of these is that printed material looks good and copies look poor when the drum and developer are on the way out.

After ceaning the optics, did you run Auto Color Calibration in User Tools - Maintenance. If you didn't, do so now.
