    MPC 6502 / 8002

    Hiya

I have an MPC 6502 saying it has a jam in D and E, it was fine but then this has happened. It also had a jam light for the fuser, this was cleared by re-calibrating the sensor using SP 1134, is there another SP for calibrating the other sensors?

Sometimes when I first switch on the machine it says C, instead of straight away onto D and E, then once it thinks its cleared it says D and E but that cant be cleared. I have tried an Engine memory clear and no joy.

    Thanks folks

Only at gunpoint you should perform a memory clear on Ricoh machines and even then I would hesitate...
Please start you post with brand, model, problem.

Only on a Ricoh color box after you back up the NV ram, so you can restore it when you find out you hosed it...........

The BW machines you can recover easy enough if you have the birth cert or the non default data.............. back up the NV ram!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a customer break the flag off the D1 lever last week.................................

First of all, I don't work on anything that new, so take this with a grain of salt.
Still, when you were looking for the engine reset in SP5, you may have noticed a mode labeled "INPUT" just before that. Using "INPUT" mode, you can manually activate the sensors in question and find out which one is giving you grief.
If that's not a viable course of action, the machines I've worked on will print out a very useful report using SP5-990-004. It not only lists the last ten jams based on which sensor detected it, it also lists where those sensors are. I don't know if the newer machines like the one you are working on still print that much info on that report, but it is at least something to think about.
If the machine is unable to print at all, it is likely you will find something similar in SP7. Most of the time I was too lazy to think and move my fingers around to use that though, so I don't know the mode numbers for retrieving the information from there.
