While attempting to preform a firmware update on this machine the processor stalled and this message was displayed. I was able to get the machine out of the e40 service state by doing 104 clear, clear, clear. Now the machine will not start and constantly says, "please wait" on screen. I have tried a different known good processor but that doesn't help. I am very familiar while the Ricoh MPC5500 machines but not this model. Also i have never done a firmware update before and haven't seen this service code before. Any helpful advise would be very much appreciated.

Replace the update data for the module on the
SD card and try again, or replace the BCU board.
Re do engine firmware first. If please wait continues then disconnect the HDD, turn on the machine and see if it comes to ready if so, replace HDD.Totoro -

its 107 not 104. you will hear a beep after the third clear. power down and reload the firmware on your card and try again. If you know what module it was trying to update when it failed, try loading
that module only.Comment

Make sure your SD cards are formatted properly. If you are using Windows 7 or above you might be OK, however it might not hurt to download the
SD card formatter utility from Panasonic anyway and format the cards with it before you load firmware onto them.

Or, if you receive used machine in trades, the SD cards they contain work great for firmware upgrades, they are what I've used for years.Comment
