Ricoh Smart Print for mobile devices

    Hello all,
Hope this is the right place to post instead of connectivity, but I',m sure you all will let me know!!! My question is about Ricoh Print Smart app for mobile devices. Can it print anything or does it just print PDF's, Excel and Word docs? My customer called and said they can print saved PDF's, Word and Excel docs but cannot figure out how to print the body of an e-mail. They can print any attachments but, as I said, not the body of the e-mails.

They should be able to select, copy and paste the body of the e-mail to a simple note which can then be printed....

Most mobile devices don't have an API that allows the contents of an email to be recognised as a document for printing. The only way to reliably print is to either copy and paste the contents or to use web mail. The last mobile system I knew of that could print direct from the email app was WebOS and that was only to HP printers.

Sent from my BlackBerry using the Android app.

I don't have vast experience with mobile printing, but I do have fooled around with a few apps including Ricoh Print & Scan.
PrinterShare Premium is the only one that I've found that does print the body of an email properly.
The limitations are that it only has a limited number of device drivers for Ricoh and no colour models, but you can use any B&W model for basic printing function without issue.

EDIT: I just realized they put the price up to $12.95cdn.
It was about $3 when I bought it a couple of years ago, and I don't think you can do anything with the free version
