Scan to email reception is slow (mp c2003sp)

The client has 2 machines of different manufacturer. When I scan to email using the other brand, the scan is received immediately. But when I scan to Ricoh machine, it takes time before it comes to client's email. The system settings is set to factory default and reconfigured for scan to email. The machine's firmware is up to date. The machine is connected to another network port but still same problem. Any ideas?

When the memory % at the top of the scan screen returns to 100%, the Ricoh has finished sending. If it not in the inbox for sometime after that, it is a problem with the email provider.

The client is asking why the other machine (Xerox) is working fine in scan to email but Ricoh is not.

like slimslob said: if the memory jumps back to 100% quickly, the ricoh is working fine, too and the problem must be network/mailserver related. Like if the traffic is routet differently for whatever reason you might end up with different results.

Two completely different manufacturer's machines send email in different ways. One of the biggest problem with the lower end Metis (2003-3503) is the processor speed. They take AGES to boot, to load PCC (hahaha) and pretty much do anything.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          Hit it.

If that will be the explanation, the client will say that the other manufacturer is better than Ricoh. If the client scans to email using Xerox machine and it is working fine, but when he scans in Ricoh and it shows processing and it takes time before it is received. Sometimes it shows only transmitting then where is the problem??I could not say that there is a problem in the network because the client will say, If there is a problem in the network, then why Xerox is working fine?:-)

Check the resolution, I would normally leave it on 200 x 200 dpi. If it takes too long to scan the resolution is too high

Then it is not returning to 100% quickly. Had you answered that to my first post, it would have some time. Check the resolution and compression. The realution should never be set to more than 300 when scanning to email. Compression should be on.

ask the IT if the SMTP relay on on the C2003's ip has been granted permission.
                  Aye! Cut the crap

I haven't read the entire post and threads.

Try swapping the network DNS order inside the Ricoh box to match the other machine.

                    Before swap:
                    DNS1 10.0.0.1
                    DNS2 10.0.0.2

                    After swap :
                    DNS1 10.0.0.2
                    DNS2 10.0.0.1

Check to see if the Ethernet settings are correct. That would delay the speed of the unit. It should be on "auto, disable 1gigabit" I hope this helps. We had issues with speed and then we changed the speed of the Ethernet.

Yes I had this problem yesterday well similar. Customer was complaining the prints weren't printing fast enough. Like a multipage document, it would spit one page out then wait a few seconds then another. Was on a 55ppm machine. This was a canon machine but come to find out the Ethernet speed wasn't on auto. Changed it to auto and everything began printing nice and fast.
