    MP 201 Duplex Jamming

I have a MP 201 that jams only when you are doing duplex..when it pulls it back in, right as it goes to hit the duplex rollers on the side door, it jams. So when you open up the side door it is stuck in the fuser going backwards and the paper slides right out of the door path as you open it. Now first thought, one-way gear on the door. NO GO. then fuser. NO GO. Since then i have tried about 3 different fuser's and 3 different side doors, all of which i know do duplex perfectly fine on another machine and still it is jamming! So i replaced the duplex motor thinking that would for sure do it and still it is jamming. The only parts in my mind that are left are the gears and belt that are connected between the duplex motor and the one-way blue gear on the side door. But arn't those just gears and belts? If they are not broken or ripped wouldn't they just work just fine? No clue what to do from here...Any help is appreciated, thanks!

The following solution is compliments of Zeldaman.
He posted it a couple of years ago for an MP171, and I've had it saved ever since:

Also check the condition of the "spring plate/ swing gear" that drives your "blue" duplex gear

Yes, you can see if that gear is driving if you remove the rear cover and look through the back

Yes, you can see if that gear is turning by removing the back cover and looking through there.

That was it! Just replaced the whole section and just ran about 250 duplex through like a charm! Thanks so much!
