Try User Tools - System Settings - Paper. On the second page check to see if duplex can be turned on for the bypass. Some models allow it, some don't. Not having one here in the office I can't be sure. The only thing I have here is an MP C3001 and it does allow it.

I've got some 45/5501's back at the office. I'll check those. Thanks slimslob!

Just a follow up..... the MPC4501 and probably all of the 01's will do it. I checked only the 4501 though and it does have the option like slimslob said on the 3001.
