Is anyone else doing the prestige course that Ricoh wants done . I personally think it's horse crap, some of the techs band together to take the test, one taking two or three looking up questions.

Re: Ricoh prestige test
I took it this year i got a 78% on level 1 test passed, and a 70% on level 2 test fail, i think the pass/fail mark is 75%. I really dont care for the test from a field tech perspective a lot of the questions were networking having to do with cat 5 cable types, hubs, routers, how to get IP info then a few random in what order are PCUs from left to right, and then sales things like what finisher comes with this model etc.
Really hardly any of the questions/answers feel very useful in the daily field work, things like what SP is run to initialize developer, or what does late/lag mean in sensor jams, things you actually run into in the field when repairing mechanical issues would be better. In my area most networking and computer issues are done by customers IT/IS in house departments or from 3rd party computer service companies, we install and configure scanning beyond that we dont delve into to much network problems. As far as what finisher goes with what i can usually figure that problem out when i show up and the finisher is attached to the machine.Comment

Re: Ricoh prestige test
It is a requirement in the current company that I'm working with right now to pass the exams. Usually before being sent to training held by Ricoh, a set of exams needs to be completed for eligibility.Aye! Cut the crapComment
