MP C4504 Optional user code entry

I have a new customer who has purchased/leased a new MP C5404. They would like to be able to enter a client code to keep tract of total copies/prints for clients but not have to enter one for everyday office work. Anyone know if/how I can create a widget or other small APP that would allow user code entry to be an option for copy jobs?

If it was my client I'd be telling them that this wouldn't work - they would fail to capture the client number at least half the time as users would forget to enter the code.

Just turn on user codes and have one for general office use, that way you won't have to jump through hoops to find something that will eventually be turned off anyway.

    My 2c worth.
Nothing works quite so well that I can't totally disable it by trying to make it a little better.

Enabling classification codes (optional) in combination with a customised print driver (pop-up for classification code) would be an option worth investigating.

          Printing is not the problem.

Correct. This is how it needs to be done.

With the '54's having in user profiles, a separate profile for each function is *technically* possible, i.e. Bob's Joiners has a profile with it's own user code and shortcut on the home screen, it is just left in the hands of the customer to batter the method into their staff that they must select the correct profile before using the machine.
