Okay... what drivers are they using? OS? DHCP or static IP? Printing to IP or hostname? Printing direct to machine or through server? It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Okay. Check the machine's error log to see if an error is logged on a certain job. Enable Windows authentication in the print driver so it sends a username with each job. If a job hangs for a particular user, that will help you in troubleshooting. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Re: af 1022
This is a very old machine, around 2001...
Ethernet NIC card(s) could be on the way out...?
The NIC might be losing the IP address for the route, which would reinitialised on PC boot up.
Print out the SMC report an check if there are any NIC error codes.
Check for bent NIC socket pins or damage RJ45 connectors.
Is the customer using computer WIFI and then network hard link to the MFD?
The PC might be shutting down the "WIFI driver to save energy mode".
First off Try :
Clear the spooler directory of all files in case a random corrupt file is controlling the print queue.
Dos window prompt
C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS

Re: af 1022
it could be dropping network connection or changing network connection. Try the following
1) Ask the client if the router or network switch was changed just before the problem started occuring.
2) Do a continous ping on the machine from 1 of the workstations to see if it drops connection
3) Take a laptop or workstation disconnect it from the network and use a crossover network cable see if it then prints without a problem.Comment

Re: af 1022
I agree, sounds like an IP conflict. Where another device is using the same IP address. Just note all these devices, phone, ipads etc grab IP addresses.
Unplug the CAT 5 cable from the Ricoh, ping the address. If you get a reply, something else has taken that IP. Try pinging about over 200 range for an open IP and re-configure the IP port.
Had one client with a wireless router ( unlocked) and neighbors were on his network !Comment
