Ricoh MP201 spf The Automatic Document Feeder Does Not Pick Up Paper

Hello,

when I turn on the Ricoh MP201 spf I can hear the engine, The ADF is working, but when I put the paper on the ADF, it only pick up a little bit of paper but not the whole paper, when I push the button to copy. What is the problem?

No Error Code appears.

Your pickup roller could be worn out. Should feel grippy with some texture to it. Same for the feed belt behind it.

Most likely problem is the Sep tire upward pressure. If the Sep tire has too much upward pressure, paper will not feed. The sep tire uses a metal "spring" which is easily bent. It needs to be adjusted (re-bent)just right so the sep tire barely touches the pick-up tire. This can take several attempts, but I have rarely seen bad tires or clutches.

I have many man hours on that feeder. lol.

First thing I usually do is replace the feed, and sep roll as a set. Doing this as a set will save you many trips back, a lot of end users scan a lot now adays...

If still having issue then I replace the sep pressure spring.

If that doesn't solve it, then the clutch.

I have stuck with that order of parts replacement with success for many years.

I was the repair and sale of photocopiers.I have 7 machines ricoh mp 201 such faulty,I also thought about the clutch

jutzt use a little grease with the sep roller spring and bend it a bit so it uses a little less force.

Sounds like its a sensor problem if you say it takes the paper in for about 10cm then stops. Check your sensors. I'd start by checking if any dirt is stuck in there and cleaning it. Next step would be to replace sensor and check.

Sounds like dirty sensors. Check the black patch on the doc glass just to the left of the slit glass. If there is fluff and dirt in the little cup it causes problems when trying to use the ADF.

Also when you remove the document is there any damage on the leading edge?

change the cable from adf to machine
