    [Misc] MP4002 Energy saver mode

    Hi there,

I have a MP4002 that if it goes into energy saver mode after 10 seconds you press the on button again, it doesn't come out of energy saver mode. If you lift up the ADF it comes out of energy saver mode. I checked the switches on the ops panel with a multi meter and it tested okay.

    Any ideas?

    Hello.

Did you check the firmwares? There is a fix for this symptom in System/Copy v2.13...

This is a basic operator setting.

User Tools - System Settings - Timer Settings
Panel Off most likely is set to 10 seconds.

        Hi,

Thanks for all the responses. The firmware on the machine can't be updated because the client have specific programs running on there network. I will check the firmware when im back on monday.

The timer settings isn't the issue. It's set to 240 minutes.

        Thanks

for copying there are 3 "coming out of energy" modes:
          1. lift the ADF
          2. place sheet in adf
          3. push the energy switch
Even dough the energy switch might be broken, why - in normal use and when it is causing no further trouble - would anyone use this switch when you can use mode 1. and 2.?

It might be the switch is broken due to a customer who was so frustrated of "always waking it up by pushing the switch" (he didn't knew there where other ways) that it is now actually broken... You need to check that out.

              Re: MP4002 Energy saver mode

              Hi,

The switch works. The thing is they dont want to lift up the adf(client full of shit) and when you put a document in the adf it doesn't come out of energy saver mode. The system firmware is at 2.04 on the machine. Saw on my-ricoh that on system firmware version 2.13 that problem is corrected. But like I said we can load any firmware on the clients machine because of there program that they are using.

We are in talks about change the firmware to see if it helps.

Will let you know if firmware solves it.

              Thanks to all

Have you installed the right DF 3070 to the machine?
If not, it gives such problems...

Have you even checked the timer settings in User Tools?

                      Hi,

It worked fine. It just started last week doing this.

                      It's not the timer

                      Thanks

Since it is a user function, someone might have changed it or someone might done a memory clear that reset it to factory default of 10 seconds. If the machine has JAVA installed and started, the default time can cause other problems when coming out of energy savings.

ADF original set sensor might be broken.
Had this issue on a mpc3002

Hi all. Just a quick update on this case. The large board on the ops panel was faulty. Replaced the board, now the energy saver button is working correctlly. No firmware or user error.
