    MPC02 series drum mods

Did a search but didn't find anything about modifying the K pcu to use in the color slots on the MPc3002/3502/4502/5502 series.
I have found that you cannot use the B2242042 in them though.

to use the b224-2042 pcu on an 02 series you must first break off the metal pins at the back of the machine. we built a little tool for this but i have had to do it with just pliers. if you shine a flash light inside the copier with the pcu's and the itb out you will see what i'm talking about. there is a pin for each color pcu. just move it side to side till the tin lets go. then you grind the left side of the connector on the pcu ( part with the little metal pin in it) once you've ground down that area and got the pin out, you simple install as usual. it works great and saves you darn near a hundred dollars every time you have to replace a color pcu.

the black cannot be modified. you must use the proper pcu.

You can use both 2042 and 2256 type drums for all colours, on the 02s. Just make sure you swap the front cover plate, it has a locator pin on the bottom that is in a different position (if you are replacing BK).

2256 is rated higher, at 120k, but is a bit more expensive.

I use the maintenance Kit 830's which is the cheapest option of the lot.

Only modification required is to swap the TD sensor off the original dev unit and the face plate.

Along with the transfer unit maintenance kit and fuser maintenance kit you have yourself a really cheap full PM

This is a mod sheet that we use in house.
It assumes that you already know how to perform the mods and is more of a guide for which units fit into which machines.
It was made for our bush techs...hence it's a little bit basic.

Why does your guide say not to empty the waste toner bottles on 03 and 04 series machines?

Just order the maintenance kits for the SPC830DN, the K PCDU, colour PCDU's and transfer PCDU

We've had instruction never to empty these waste bottles, just replace them.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                        Hit it.

Yeah I don't think any of the waste bottles are supposed to be emptied, but my company is cheap.
