    MPC3504 void lines

I have a new machine with less than 20K. The cyan developer has a void patch. I have to cleaned the mag roller, but the void would just return. I replaced the DV unit. Any ideas as to a cause?

Without more information, check laser shield glass.

clean the shield glass with the (bleu) shield glass cleaner in the front door of the machine.
      Good luck!

Haven't seen it on an 04 series yet but on all the 03 series, they do this at random. Mostly Cyan and Magenta. No rhyme or reason. Really wish we could get developer for the units like the older models. On those you could vacuum out real good, replace the developer and be good to go...

With these machines that form clots in the dev before yield, we have resorted to purchasing a fine metal sieve.

We then remove the pcdu unit, split the drum and dev units, and physically confirm that the voids are on the mag roller.

Once this is confirmed we open the dev unit, and pour the dev through the sieve to trap all the clots.

Next we do a sweep of the doctor blade with a small piece of paper (between the doctor blade and mag roller) to remove any trapped clots.

Rolling the mag in the reverse direction will normally show them up, after the sweep.

We then pour the decontaminated dev back in the dev unit and do a visual test to see that there are no voids present on the mag.

Once this is confirmed, we re-assemble the pcdu and all is well afterwards.
