    Sorry to interrupt your conversation here, but as I understand well it is apparently not common that the PR is melting on the HR. Or was it?

      No, it's very uncommon. I'd rebuild the fuser with new rollers, thermistors and stats. It's not happy about something.
      It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          vey uncommon for it not to code out before it would be able to melt.
          which it why it was suggested that it may have been reset multiple times for that to happen.

            I have had it happen once. The customer had been told how to clear fusing codes. They were getting SC546 and kept resetting the code and trying to use it. This caused the temperature to go high enough to met the pressure roller before the faulty thermistor could detect the over heat. Ended up having to replace the main frame side fusing cable to correct the SC 546.
