    C232 not recognizing C

Greetings All...Are we having fun yet?

I have a SP C232dn that will not recognize Cyan. The customer tried several carts without luck, yes I am using OEM. Any thoughts....can I do a forced or hard set. Ricoh printers are a bit new to me so any hand holding will be much appreciated.

    Thanks much...

Check the RFID chip that reads the toner is set, might have bent or broken pins.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

      Greeting....

Well so much for believing and trusting user information. All the carts which the user provided and insisted that all were new turned out to be used. Luckily the user had another printer which they forgot about and I finally did the simple swipe trick and surprise, surprise it worked.

On a personal note I am VERY pissed at myself that I overlooked/forgot this simple test and spent time (hours) chasing a non problem
So now I have a couple simple (?) questions.

How can one determine if the cart is new or used ( they all looked clean)

How does Ricoh determine when a cart is empty, is it by clicks or by a sensor? If by ticks is it possible to do a reset? Reason I ask is because the printer immediately asked for a new cart without cycling the engine.

Is it possible to override the message or "adjust" the cart to temp work?

      Thanks Much
