Ricoh 4510SF - Hard disk (hdd) installation

Hi,
I having a hard time trying to install a hdd (320gb 2.5"). As I don't have the special power cable below, I'm using an external PC PSU.

The user manual doesn't explain how to prepare the disk. Tried to add without any partition without success (checked the "device connection" on the "configuration page").
Do I have to format it? What type of partition? Thank you for your help in advance.

I found the Service Mode (SP mode) code, but the formating failed:
Press "reset", than 8-0-6-1-8-2 than hold "Clear" for a few seconds.

On Service mode, select 5832 - HDD

Hard disk installation is described in the service manual, not in the user manual. Be sure to use the HDD OPTION Type M6, trying other HDD may fail.

Thanks terramobil, but could you explain in details? I don't have the service manual.

I could not understand what you mean by "HDD OPTION Type M6". I'm using a standard sata 2.5" 320gb hard disk.

I got it working. Somehow the printer detects if you are using the power cable or not.
I adapted an old sata power cable directly on the Ricoh power plug, like the below photo with the original ricoh special plug:

After pluging it and turning the printer on, it detects the new hard disk and asks to format it. You don't have to enter the maintenance mode.
