What settings have you or they changed in the machine? Have they done anything to tell the machine that it has envelopes in whatever tray they are printing from? In the print dialog are they telling it to print onto envelopes?

Has the customer followed the directions in the user manual to print onto envelopes?

If you are using the bypass, check that Prompt for paper is off for the bypass when printing. It is a user setting and is in Printer, I think. Default is on and if printer memory is cleared in SP 5801, it will be reset to default.

MS word will override any print driver settings. that said, user tools ,printer features,system.. poke around and find bypass settings for driver command vs machine settings. Use driver command. In the MS word setting there are two settings for envelopes. One is Bypass and the other is Bypass {default}. Make sure the customer is using the Bypass-non default setting. Don't know why it matters but it does.

        Good luck,
