    LD645C Banding When Scanning

Have a scanner that was throwing SC101 codes and banding when scanning a document, through both ADF and on flatbed. Lamp, SIO board, and lamp stabilizer replaced. SC101 is gone but banding remains. Optics are clean. If a scan is sent to email, the result is good. If a copy is made of the same document, banding occurs. Prints and internal test patterns are fine, no banding. Sky shots are good, no noticeable flickering of the lamp or carriage movement issues. Banding occurs on the "back" half of the copy, regardless of the original's orientation (portrait or landscape). A number of scanner-specific tests in SP mode passed satisfactorily. Seems the problem is outside the scanner but unable to pinpoint where. Good prints rule out most engine problems. Any suggestions?

IPU maybe? There are IPU tests patterns in the SP4417 that are generated by the IPU board as apposed the the LD board for regular test patterns. If the IPU test patterns come out weird that would give you a direction to go from. You can also use SP 4807 to test the SBU.
