I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't find any answers. I have a customer with an MPC4502 that wants to know if documents/files can be imported to the document server or if they have to scan every doc they want to keep on the HDD. Pretty sure it won't do it but........

Re: MPC4502 import to doc server
You can. If you have a document you want to put onto the document server, you can choose the document server as an output in the printing dialogue that pops up when you hit print on a document. -
Re: MPC4502 import to doc server
I found it here. Took me awhile. Not feeling well today.
Windows 2000/XP/Vista, Windows Server 2003/2003 R2/2008
- In the application, on the [File] menu, click [Print].
The [Print] dialog box appears. - Select the printer, and then open the [Printing Preferences] dialog box.
- In the [Job Type:] list, click [Send to Document Server].
- Click the [Details...].
- In the [User ID:] box, enter the user ID using up to eight alphanumeric (a-z, A-Z, 0-9) characters. A file name and password can also be entered arbitrarily.
The user ID associates the user with his / her job.
You can assign a password to a saved document, but password assignment is not mandatory.
The same password must be entered when printing or deleting. - Click [OK].
- Click [OK] to close the [Job Type Details] dialog box.
- Start the printing from the application's [Print] dialog box.
Comment

Re: MPC4502 import to doc server
just make sure that the document server is not set to auto delete file, usually after 3 days. Setting is in User Tools - System Settings - Administrator Tools. Second or third page. Also remember to keep as hard copy of anything in the Document Server to protect against HDD crash.Comment
