Ricoh aficio 220 displayed sc541.i have try to enter clear mode bet it can't enter clear mode don't know what's wrong.

Enter SP mode then turn off main power.

On that old unit you actually have to run SC reset (SP5-810), then select "1" and then hold photo and # buttons at the same time for a few seconds until the machine beeps

I think those instructions are for the AF200 or 250 that precedes the 220.
Accessing SP mode on the AF220 or 270 is no different than on later models such as the 2027, 3010, MP2550.
First though, the OP has to make sure all the buttons are working.
Given the age of the machine, it's likely that some of them are getting "sticky".

I wasn't offering instructions to access SP mode. The instructions are for resetting the SC code

Entering sp mode is the same, but hitting pound after 5810 won't work. You have to hit both buttons at the same time, then the machine will beep five times instead of two, and reset the code.
