    DF75

what would be the primary cause for original misfeed code 005 on the DF75 document feeder; I only see it misfeed if the original has a curl???
    Thanks!!!

    Re: DF75

These feeders are pretty reliable and not too fussy about moderate paper curl.

The reg sensor patch needs to be kept clean of paper dust & lint.
If it's feeding a little slow to start with, the paper curl may be causing more drag and slowing it down further so it's late getting to the reg sensor.
The drive pulley for the feed belt has a one-way bearing inside.
Sometimes the shaft gets burnished and needs to be sanded so the bearing grips and drives the belt.

Aside from that, replacing the pickup roller, feed belt, feed clutch, reverse roller & occasionally the torque limiter is about all the normal parts I replace.

    Hope this helps.

On top of what doug had said, this is one of those DFs that has the registration sensor buried and hard to get to. If you open the feed so you can see the white plate just about midway push in on the white plate and shine a flashlight up there you can see the back of the sensor in there about the best way i have found is to locate it and wet a Qtip alcohol and just stick up in front of it and spin it around a bit.

I think that sensor is the one i find dirty most often, I have also had clutch go out on it, beings that its an older DF unit a failed clutch is possible.
