    MP C5000 Registration issue

ok, paper is coming thru skewed in the registration section from all 4 trays and bypass.

it seems like the registration is "tighter" on front side as the margin is gone, while the backside has one.

i have checked springs (even swapped with another 5000), bushings and buckle to no luck.

i can push on the driver registration roller to the left with a screwdriver and i can get a margin on front side.

looking at the other 5000s, seems that the bushing is in the right place.

    baffling a bit.

    any ideas? suggestions?

Best i can tell you off the top of my head is usually the bushings crack that hold the tension springs. Easiest way i could tell is if you take a piece of paper and try to slide a corner of it either up through or down between the reg roller and steel roller at front few inches or at the back few inches, if paper will pass through without turning the rollers then which ever side front or rear that you can slide between has a broken bushing and the tension spring is just hanging on the roller, most of the time it was the front one but either one will snap off, the older models sucked because they put the pull out rod for lifting the machine right in front of the front bushing made it a pain to get the thing out.

Thats all i can think of that keeps the rollers tight together, other then some odd uneven wear one the reg roller i dont know what else would cause one end to slip more then the other. Unless your tray guides in all 4 trays are loose and its feeding crooked to begin with.

I cant remember but i think there is a metal plate just under the reg roller that comes off with 2 screws there is a mylar on the back side that gets cracked and will catch paper but that usually jams in the center where the triangle/teardrop hole is for the sensor.
