    [Misc] Ricoh mpc4000 fiery driven

Who can tell me about this printer and how it is connected got one yesterday from a friend and I have no idea how it is connected.

The Ethernet port don't work I'm guessing because it's fiery driven, the crossover port works fine.
Can someone tell me what I am not doing or what I should be doing to get same connected to my pc.

    Regards,
    DD

if i remember correctly, there are two nic ports, one is the original nic, that will be disabled due to the other nic. the other nic is connected to fiery box and then a cable to the network. i set one up years ago, so my mind is foggy. i think i had to put a switch on it so that the fiery could connect to network and printer. not sure at this point.

If you're not going to use GW scan to email, don't worry about the main ethernet port on the 4000. If you are, set SP5895-001 and 002 to 0. That will re-enable the GW apps.

The Fiery should be connected to the network, then the Fiery to the gigabit eithernet port on the machine. Switch the Fiery on. When the little vox display reads "00", then start the 4000 up. Leave them both for a couple of minutes, then press the "Fiery" print key on the 4000. If you get the Fiery screen, you're good to go. Configure it's network settings, download the driver and you should be sorted.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.
