    Fiery driven button only beeps

My Ricoh mpc4000 comes with a fiery and has a button fiery driven and is to provide an additional option screen when pressed but all it does is beep twice with no action.

Can someone tell me what's the possible causes?

    The fiery cycles to 00

    Help please

    Regards,
    DD

Excerpt from Fiery service manual attached. Make sure the right wires are in the right holes!

It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

I think it is attach properly .... On fiery top most usb connected to usb A on printer
Top nic port has white crossover cable with filters on both ends to nic port the one that's not saying Ethernet

Lower nic port in fiery connected to my pc

      Do I have that right?

      NB
Is there a way to bypass fiery completely and use printer from Ethernet port??

No, the Fiery must be connected to the gigabit ethernet port on the 4000. USB won't work. Check the installation instructions I just posted.

Re: Fiery driven button only beeps

I recently separated a Fiery from an MPC3000 (don't ask me why an MPC3000 had a Fiery but it did)...
I was told it couldn't be done but just followed the Fiery installation instructions in reverse and introduced the Fiery controller to the Bin.
That MPC3000 is now doing great on it's own! :-)
