    SC 360 on 430dn

I'm going to say upfront that I'm not a technician. I have a 430DN that gets error code SC360. I was using cheap toner and the retailer where I bought it said that was the cause of my problem. They suggested getting OEM toner and running lots of paper thru it to try and get it cleaned out. I've done that and run about 300 full color pages and still get the SC360. In doing online research it seems this is a TD sensor for the black toner. Is this something that I could correct myself?

Fit an OEM toner and cheat the top cover set switch, see if the bottle rotates. If it does, it's just the PCDU. If it doesn't, the pump's gone. Always use OEM toner!!!!
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

One thing to remember is that the term OEM means that it is made according to the manufacturer's specifications. It does not mean GENUINE {manufacturer name}. The quality of product is not guaranteed.

I've ordered a new PCDU. I'll see what happens.

I pay $599 for Ricoh toner. I can get a new printer for $728. For only $129 more I can get a new printer. Is there OEM toner that does not cost $599?

WHAAAT?!...now that's for a set of four CMYK toners....correct???...I think for that model, you can get a standard yield or a high yield. I think the high yield count is around 30k pages @ 5% coverage. Watch out if you get a new printer and look at the size of the toner cartridges....some of the newer machines aren't quite so big!

            Check E-Bay for lower prices!

Yes the $599 toner is for 4 carts from printershowcase.com. The 440DN is $728 with free shipping. It does have smaller carts included. I've been looking online and there are places that sell the toner for $189 range and say it is compatible and guaranteed. I'll have to look and see what sort of yield count they have.

Keep in mind that these are 24,000 page cartridges, and also that the problem you have is self-inflicted.
Sure, you could walk into a box store and pick up a printer for a few hundred dollars that cartridges cost $100ea -but they last 1000 pages or so. Cost is irrelevant , It's the yield that matters.
Surely, you see where this math is leading.
If that's $599 for a complete set of Genuine RICOH toner? I beleive that's a fair price (but I'm in Canada )
Bye the way, the SP440 ships with 3000 page starter cartridges, so there's a little more math

Well, then apparently you should get a new printer. It's just that easy.
