A few weeks ago, I ran into an SC code issue where the controller and NVRAM needed replaced. The customer then complained that the ShareScan application would not work. After fumbling through the problem, for some reason I printed a counter sheet. I noticed on the counter sheet that the line that usually has the serial number was blank. Turns out that the Java SD card would not load Java on the machine as the bound serial number did not match, since the machine did not have one assigned. I reset the serial number for the machine through SP 5-811 and Java became live after rebooting the machine. ShareScan was reloaded on the machine and it worked marvelously after that. Maybe in the future someone will Google this symptom and find this on the forum. Thought I'd add it here.
