question about the toners on MPC 3502, MPC 3501

I have a possible 2 unit sale that hinges on me getting the MPC 3502 copiers to use their existing MPC 3501 TONERS BOTH COLOR
AND BLACK..From what i read the drums are interchangeable with some tweaking.
Anyone try to use 01 toner in the newer 02 series?
I ve been able to do this with the MPC 2550 toner in a MPC 2551 by snapping a small black piece of plastic..

01 color toners will work in the 02s. The 02 toner do give a higher yield per bottle. The 01 toner bottle will not fit all the way into a 02.

am confused here.when you say 01s will work in 02s..will the color toners fit,and be recognized by a mpc 3502?mpc3501
i know ricoh plays games with the black plastic housing with different notches etc..

i have done this with mpc2800 and mpc3501 black toner by grinding off plastic to match but machine would not accept the toner..
i am not sure if its in the reset chip or other.
