    MP C2504 noise

Brand new machine with vibration noise, suspect fuser. Can't find any bulletins on this, also looked at C2503 and found nothing. Customer not happy of course, any help appreciated. Thanks

Try "output check" via sp mode.
By activating separated parts, it's easier to troubleshoot...
    Good luck

      Engine firmware?
Version Modified Points or Symptom Corrected1.08:02 Symptom corrected:- An abnormal sound may occur after continuously printing 20 or morepages.- An abnormal sound may occur when the machine stops due to a wastetoner bottle full detection while printing 10 or more pages.- If a jam occurs while the fusing temperature is relatively high, forexample, while continuously running jobs, the fusing unit attempts toprevent its temperature from further increasing and may cause anabnormal sound or a wrap-around jam.- Color adjustment fails and the tone of the color may suddenly changewhile printing.- Machine may stall with an SC990, if the tray runs out of paper or a misfeedoccurs with the last page of the job.Other changes:- To enable quicker first print even under low temperature and lowhumidity environment, the default value of feed permit setting onC5504/MCP6004 was changed as follows:SP1-102-011[Temp:lowerelta:Press:Sp.1] 5->10
Do not run fuser in output mode unless you remove the waste toner bottle 1st-you'll end up trashing the sleeve!

Keep in mind you can't run the fusing drive output with the fuser inside on the newer sleeve belt fuser machines.

If you do you risk damaging or destroying the fusing sleeve.

I've had a faulty fusing pressure motor/exit motor do this from new.
It's the combined motor...easy to get to.
Ignore the bulletin attachment...it's for a different model....(didn't have my specs on)

Indeed, if you perform an "output check" via sp mode, activate the separate parts as short as possible!
And open the paper trays, because it will feed the paper and you will get a jam..
              Etcetera, etcetera,...

                  Re: MP C2504 noise

Thanks for all the input. I was there for the same issue a few weeks ago and after running numerous copies it vibrated for about 10 seconds and then would not do it again. It was from the fuser area but can't swear to it actually being from the fuser. They do have a finisher so will keep bridge unit in mind also. Didn't know about damaging the fuser sleeve when running in test mode...thanks for that tip. Does it walk off and self destruct or from excess heat?? Had updated firmware even though new but will double check engine.

Oze, was the faulty pressure/exit motor problem constant? Intermittent?

The customer says it's doing a lot now so hopefully it will, while I am there. Can't go til next week though. Thanks again.
