MPC2051 not fusing only when printing.

    Hi Guys

    Funny problem.

I have a MPC2051 with 114000 Black and 60000 color on the clock.

When I print a doc after 4 copies the fuser will stop fusing but when I copy that same document it fuses fine. I replaced the fuser unit with a brand new one, still the same. Download loaded the latest printer driver, no joy.

Up the fusing temp by 10 degrees did the trick but thats not a permanent solution.

    Anybody have an idea?

    ThanksMPC2051 not fusing.jpg

Any chance the print driver is set for a different paper setting?

      Hi

Did not try it but pretty sure it will work if I set it to thick paper.

      Can try it tomorrow.

I don't have a solution to your original post.
I'm certainly not doubting you, but it just doesn't make sense to me
That said, I don't think setting the driver to "thick" will be a workable solution, because it seems to me that you'lll also have to set the paper type on the machine to "thick" in order for the print driver to select paper automatically, and that will create issues for basic copying and/or faxing function since the machine then won't automatically feed from those trays

          Hi

I agree that this will not be a permanent solution but i might give one a idea on what my cause this.

          Thanks

If the paper tray is set for Driver/Command instead of machine setting, then the job will be ran at the driver setting. There is a possibility that the driver is set for thin paper. This will lower the fusing temperature. It can take a couple of pages for the reduced temperature to be reached.

Ahhh....Yes, that makes sense. I'd not though of it in that way.
              Thanks for that.

I've encountered it a few times.
