Ricoh MP C2800 scan to email through exchange

    Hi all

I have a client who is using scan to email on a C2800 through their exchange server and the email address they were using to send has been deleted.

I have set the printer up with a known user email address on the network but the emails are not getting out. When you watch the screen where it says the memory is at 100%, it drops to 99% when you scan in the document then back up to 100% as it should but the emails don't get out.

Is there a setting on the exchange server I need to configure?

I've had 2 similar instances in the last couple of weeks with the same symptom: The email was leaving the machine but never arrived at destination:
The first one I set up using an SMTP2go account I created for them, and they had a yahoo address they wanted to use for the Administrator email.
The second one was setup with credentials from their own (non-encrypted) smtp server using an existing email account, which didn't work, so I set them up on smtp2 go also.....still no luck.
(And NO, they weren't be filtered into spam)

The issue turned out to be with the administrator email used on the machine. After much trial and failure, I simply typed in my own Gmail address to try as the administrator email, and it worked .
I had both clients set their administrator email accounts on the machine to different domains. I think one used Gmail, and the other hotmail.
I can't explain the reason for this, but hopefully it helps, and perhaps someone with much more knowledge than I, can offer some expertise on the reasoning
