I printed the same photo with my SP C312DN, driver set to 600 dpi (top), and my MP 6001, driver set to 1200 dpi (bottom). The difference is very noticeable. In spite of the SP C312DN printing at a lower resolution, it looks significantly better. The SP C312DN was set to black & white (i.e. no composite black).
Here is how they look.
I updated the MP 6001's driver to the latest PCL6 driver which did not seem to change anything. I also tried the non-universal PCL6 driver, the non-universal PS driver, and changing dither mode.
Is this a limitation of the MP6001 or have I configured something wrong?
The reason to use the MP6001 is it has a saddle stitcher.
Thanks in advance for any responses.
