MP 5002 DF Jam Interval Sensor

    Hi all,

Ive got a pretty dirty MP5002 that has a ton of jams at:
    -05 Interval Sensor
    -06 Registration Sensor

I have cleaned all the black felts the sensors shoot into and cleaned all the rollers. Ive only been able to replicate the jam a few times but the plotter history shows lots of these two jams.

The one time i was able to get it to jam was a Interval Sensor jam and the trail edge of the paper had just left the glass. The next page was just departing the feed belt.

Ive searched thru the service manual but the sensor names don't match the jam names. Does any body know where these 2 sensors are?

Im ordering up a feed belt unit as the gears and belt are pretty beat up.

    Thanks

Registration is in the feed down path just before the paper feeds across the slit glass. The interval sensor is the last sensor before the registration sensor.

Indeed, there is sensor which accessing is rather tricky...
remove the black plate at the left side of P2 (3 screws)
The sensor is situated face down... at the right side of this plate (not on this plate!), more to the rear.
Go to page 10 of your parts cat, this sensor is item 18.
        Clean it.
        Solved?
Also I had some sensors who where broke because of static electricity due to carpet on the floor...

I checked the parts guide, I did not see a clutch at all so maybe it's a different model of DF. It is a reversing feeder.

I think i got all those sensors cleaned but ill check for the one under that plate. When having the DF up to the left where the paper exits to the slit glass is a small plate held by 2 plastic screws and the black felt was filthy.

Parts should be here today so we will see what happens.

          Thanks
