    MP 201 No Printer or Scanner

    The printer and scanner functions are not showing up on my 201...i have done a firmware update as well as switched the printer/scanner unit 201 sd card with a different one and still nothing.

    In system settings there are no interface settings...and in sp 5-801-8 and -9 it says "Invalid Operation" below it.

    So didn't know if there was something that could possibly restrict those functions and all i need to do is just get into it and allow it?? Or do i need to change the whole controller board?

      Which model MP 201 is it?

      If it's an "F" model, it's fax only, and can't be upgraded / updated for print and scan.

              The Printer/Scanner SD belongs in slot 1, the top slot. Is it that the functions are not showing or that they are not working? If they are not showing, then you do not have an SPF model.

                  Yea I agree with you...strange though, must have been tampered with or removed. Both rear stickers insist its an "spf". The 5-907-1 only says "aficio ricoh mp 201" regardless of it or not so that was no help. Can't print a config page cause there are no printer settings, and the birth certificate also doesn't show "SPF" OR "F" regardless. And it had a printer/scanner sd chip in slot one when i got it. Oh well...I'll chalk it up as a loss. Thanks though for confirming

                      You should be able the print the SMC reports. System SP 5990.
