HI,

Got a customer that prints a lot of runs printing only labels. (A4, 70x16,9)
Tried several different label brands, but unfortunately there are to many jams !!
Mostley the labels gets stuck in the cartridge.
The labels are fed from the bypass.

Someone a solution to prevent labels getting stuck in the cartridge. ?

Any help is welcome here

Zeldaman is wright.
When it fails I used to put it on "thick paper"... that also might help.
Like paper, labels can also get moisty and jam more often.

There are two types of labels, wet edge and dry edge, on the dry edge the backing sheet is 1 to 1.5 wider then the labels and this helps stopping the glue being squeezed off the side of the sheet and gumming up the works. However if the labels are getting stuck to the drum it sounds like the labels are starting to lift as they go through the 180 deg turn before registration.
You can demonstrate to the customer the difference between a quality label and an El Cheapo brand by holding a sheet flat on the desk and then pulling the sheet downwards over the edge of the desk. Cheap ones will lift as they go past the sharp 90 deg angle and good ones should stay on the backing sheet.
Try this first out of the customers view just makes sure that the good ones you are touting don't lift as well. Saves a lot of embarrassment.

And it pains me to say this after 30 years as a laser tech, if you need to print large amounts of labels and are not worried about copy quality a ink jet printer with a flat paper path is the solution.

Sometimes it is better to get a label printer. Then I don't have to deal with label jams on the drum ect.'.......
