    MP3350B Finisher Jam Code J130

Hello all, I need your expert, please help me to pin point the problem. This machine work perfectly fine without Finisher (even the finish attached). But when I tried using Stapler or Punch hole option. I got J130 error, paper jam at entrance of finisher. Please see picture.

By the way, I got error code J100 before. The paper stop at the entrance sensor, but after read few post about switch. now the J100 is gone. This time paper pass about 2" further that where J130 show up.

    Thank you,

I try to clean most sensor that I can see and reach with can-air blow and qtip. Is there sensor under the punch unit (it seem like paper stop right at the hole punch)? I will try to remove more part any more hiding sensor.

      Thanks

Did you change the finisher? I ask this because J100 is a finisher entrance jam for a SR790 1000 sheet finisher and J130 is for a SR3000 1000 sheet booklet finisher.

finisher last a long time. sometimes hold punch sticks . do you have it set when you make a copy that it goes to top tray of finisher. try direct it to make a staple copy and see if it works. make sure that entrance sensor is working. if you have service manual page 4-147 go into service mode and check entrance sensor to make sure it is working.

It's easy to remove the punch unit. Try doing that and running paper through the machine before taking the punch unit apart.

Could also be that the diverter gates are damaged. They would be just behind where the punch unit is. They control if the paper goes to the proof tray, shift tray, or to the staple tray.

Two main causes for finisher entry jams:
                    1. Slippage in the bridge unit
                    2. Finisher entry guide plate deformed, usually caused by someone using it as a lift point when trying to move the finisher.

I think #2 is the main cause. when I got it, the Finisher isn't detach, instead hang to the printer with one hook. I guess they didn't know how to disassembly the finisher before ship to me.

I will get my hand on the service manual to find out where these guide plate, see I can straighten them out.

                      thanks
