toner cyan went to west toner in mpc2003

    ya hi all

i have strange issue in this model
The problem is when we put a new cyan toner, the toner is supposed to be 10,000 copies, but it ends after 500 or 1000 copies, and we note that the toner is going to the west toner bottle. , the problem was solved by changing the development unit cyan , but I want the explanation of the problem.

Two reasons I can think of are that the TD sensor on the dev unit was faulty and giving false low toner message and the other is the developer has been contaminated and wasn't combining with the toner correctly. Excess loose toner would be pushed through to the waste toner bottle.
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.

I had one recently where the cover with the earthing strip was missing from the Dev unit, that caused it to constantly add toner

The described problem, if so much toner was going truely through the dev unit, would have very obvious copy quality issues (blue streaks, overtoning ? ), and also would have thrown an sc code for that dev unit (no sc code ?). How was the copy, and were any sc codes generated ?
