ODD problem on a mp 6001

I got a call on a mp6001 that in the past gave me issues where i couldnt clear ADF JAM...
In this case the machine would not come to ready nor give me a warm up cycle..
i could get into service mode but could not print out a smc report...
i was able to run motors and ck out all keys on control panel but print was disabled..
i did ck the service mode that disables copying.
    formatted hard drive etc etc..
somehow i woke it back up but have no idea how.
    anyone see this before?

Did you try to do Memory Clear - ENGINE

    SP - 5-801-002 #
Then turn off machine, and turn on.

I think that is some software bug. Try to change FW

Looks like the hdd format fixed your problem, when you not get the ready to print message and you can't print from the service menu
usualy the machine wait to read the hdd for scan users/folders/documents etc..
When you format it you fix the bad sectors and the machine can read/write again to the hdd
You will need to change in the future the hdd if develop new bad sectors before you loose again the users addressbook and scan folders.

if the machine remains in "please wait" you can try to power on the machine with open front door and extracted fusing unit, then close the fusing unit and the door, now a sc code appears (sc552 or 550). I't worked in my case with some MP 6500

Memory clear will just add another problem to your tech life...
As stated multiple times at this community, only do memory clear at gunpoint, if your 100 % sure it will cure the maschine.
Please start you post with brand, model, problem.

I agree with gkalman2004, if the machine won't come to "Ready", the first thing to do is disconnect the hard drive and see if that helps.
I also agree that the hard drive might need to be replaced soon. Every once in a while I got very lucky formatting a hard drive and having it work for a significant amount of time, but the vast majority of the time the format worked it just gave me enough time to get a replacement hard drive.

Every time I have run into the situation where I could access service mode but not make any changes was a HDD problem. Replacement was necessary, as a format did not cure the problem.
