i have a machine that causing toner smears in the drum area, i would suspect is this the primary problem of these machine? lots of toner in the pcu assembly and cannot go to collecting toner pipe and the developer goes down below from the mag roller...... Your thought can be shared to our fellow technician.....

check that cover was open at top of recycle tube toner unit, replace coil, check drive from cleaning to recycle tube. Old nachine.

No mention of mileage on the machine since last change of consumables (developer, drum), would be useful to know. Lots of toner dump on this model would be normal, the older it is the more often it needs a vac-out, the waste toner collection coil is well and truely distorted, needs changing now. (you should be getting 'knocking' noises also ?). Toner smears, minimum, change the cleaning blade, the coil, vac it all out as a starting point.

good point, however, he would not be able close the toner hopper and door if thats not in position.

From your pictures, the toner coil in the PCU needs to be replaced. If the opening at the front of the PCU is clogged with toner, that will need to be cleaned. If you cannot cleared it without breaking the front plate of the PCU, you will need to replace the entire PCU.

ricoh 1075 cover is open as shown message but all the doors are closed where is the problem

Try a new thread but first check door switches and actuators.
