RICOH C3300 Latest Firmware for Windows 10 SMB fix?

    Hi all,

We have a RICOH Aticio MP C3300 in our office and we've been trying to get scanning working but apparently it's because of Windows 10 and SMB 3. I've read that there is a firmware fix for this and after browsing around I can't find the firmware online. Does anyone have or know where I may get this firmware update please?

    Thank you.

If you don't have a local dealer, then setup FTP Scanning. It's non- firmware dependent and works exactly the same from an end user perspective, and there are tons of threads relating to it.

For mp c2500 it is a customized firmware for windows 10 smb scaning.
I used it with succes more times.
But for MP C2800 i use the lastest firmware and it work with windows 10.
Some setup for sharing with user and password required (you can't connect the printer to the share without password and you need workgroup )

Change the smb client port from 139 to 445 in telnet admin console, and will do the trick. No new firmware needed.

Thank you for all the suggestions, I'll look into them properly as soon as I can, for now I've just been using the TWAIN driver and scanning software to achieve this.

Not the first time I've heard this, but it's never worked for me either, including an old Machine at my shop that I just tried it with.
Anyone else have any feedback on this suggestion?

yes i use scan to folder on MP C2500/2800/3300
for MP C2500 it is needed a custom firmware for the 2800/3300 the lastest firmware will work.
Just create a new user ex: "scan" with a password, create the folder and share it for the created user with read write access.
in advanced settings set turn on password protected sharing.
The only way to get SMB2/3 support would be to do a firmware update on the copier.
                    Or option 2
Change the default smb port number 139 to 445,using the telnet editing.
                    Go to cmd,
telnet ip address of the machine,
Enter machine login name and password,
                    Enter smb client port445
                    enter smb client auth.1,

                    Enter log off enter,
                    Type yes to save settings.

Re: RICOH C3300 Latest Firmware for Windows 10 SMB fix?

With out updated firmware I'm unsure how old copier SMB 1.0 internal settings would translate to the newer SMB 2.0,3.0. You can disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP in windows Local Lan tab in Network Sharing Center.

I'm unsure why forcing Port 139 to Port 445 would make any difference to SMB 2.0,3.0 as windows communicates on both ports prior to SMB connections. If "NetBIOS over TCP/IP" is disabled by default; I believe windows will only communicate on Port 445. Why would the older style copier SMB protocol 1.0 communicate with SMB 2.0,3.0 just because the port number has been forced to port 445 only ?

                      Further reading for those interested.
