OK troops... a head scratcher for ya. An MP C4503 with Smart Panel V1 lost all of its on-screen apps after a power surge of some sort. I replaced the main controller and re-flashed everything, and we're back in business.
4 months later, all the apps were gone AGAIN, and THIS time when I booted up the machine with the SD card mounted, I got some rather strange messages, including "Programmed. Cannot program more login user names. User tools/Counter/Inquiry" and "Cannot Use this Function- E61"
Went "Old-School". Mounted a standard op panel, and re-flashed the firmware for that model, and THEN I RE-reflashed it with the SOP firmware and reattached the op panel, and "Viola"....we have apps again!!
...only down side...the Single Pass ADF tray doesn't lift!! It only wants to make copies off the glass. I ran out of time to play with it today, but if anyone has a suggestion, I'm MORE than willing to give it a shot!!
