      Polarbear:
Client's office is hard to reach (traffic jams and far in distance), so I can't get a sample.
"offset" or "ghost image", means that the original text or photograph reproduce itself in a slightly visible way further down the page.
Of course, the distance between the original text and the reproduced one could be the factor to troubleshoot.
Could it be a fusing problem?

If you say it only happens in black, to me it sounds like cleaning blade failure on black PCU.

I know you said that it is only 50k old, but fusing could not be selective if it was for instance being cold and causing offset, it would happen in colour prints also.

could it be that fusing temperature is higher when printing in color?
That could be the reason why it only happens in B&W...
          ???
