    Ricoh MP 2352 copier paper feed problem

    Copier being refurb. during testing tray1 would jam or image was down from registration were it should be and tray 2 work fine. We installed new clutches for tray 1 for paper feed and transport same problem. I notice when making 1 copy that copy feed through but a second page parcel feed out of tray. So I decide to swap paper feed and transport wires were clutches plug in works fine. I check with wiring schematic everything looks right and took volt meter ohm everything out. is it possible that schematic is wrong and there is a bulletin on this issue.

      Hi

      I would restore the loom so that all cables run to the correct motors and clutches.

      I would then swop tray 1 and 2 and retest. If that makes no difference, swop feed station 1 and 2.

      Swopping the wires (from what I understand from your post) will only confuse the machine.

          There is a feed sensor pointing down in the feed station that can get toner INSIDE it, especially when one of these toner hoppers / PDCUs pukes. You will get wild variations in registration and jamming. You will need to change the sensor. I have tried cleaning them with very limited success.

              What's on the smc SP-5990-004 about logs? And the Guide Plate tray 1 intact? As i know paper feed unit both tray 1 and 2 are same, so it's possible to swap.

                  thank you for the help with jamming problem. took advice about swapping feed units now problem was on tray 2 side. Using the input check 5-803 saw that the tray 2 paper lead edge sensor was not working so pull it out. So i could test it and at sensor the signal was changing from 1 to 0 . finally after pulling feed unit back out saw wire for signal was pull out enough to not make contact. reinsert wire and it work fine after that.
