Scan to email on mp3351

Dear all,

I am trying to setup scan to email on ricoh mp3351 using yahoo mail.
Smtp connection test successful but when i sent a scan job it will take 2 minutes in transmitting and after that transmisson failed check setting error appears.
Same settings are working perfectly on mp2352. Only difference is in mp2352 on smtp tab there is an option of ssl on/off which is missing in mp3351.
Kindly guide me how can i resolve this issue.

If the option for SSL is not present, then SMTP over SSL is not supported for this model.

You will need to either scan via a tunnel, or directly to a port 25 server, like GMX.

SMTP over SSL support started with the MP XX52 models. Try using aspmx.l.google.com as the SMTP server on Port 25. If it does not work you will need to setup a local relay such as Stunnel.

Now we are trying to use company's email service using port 25. Smtp connection test successful but when sent a scan job same error occur.

Make sure the copier's IP address is added to the exchange's recieve connector.

That company not uses microsoft exchage.

Mostly in local network customers are using their e-mail server open, this means that without username/e-mail name and password. So no authentication needed. Just try it.
If this does not work, check the spelling of username/password. Use the login data from an existing e-mail user of the company.
You can also check for smtp error messages on web image monitor under > network > system protocol.

You will get regular alerts on the account used to authenticate that this is turned on.

FYI - aspmx.l.google.com does not work for free gmail accounts, only for g-suite members. Does it work with you with free googlemail account?

This may be a bit off-topic, but I have needed to do this with Gmail (same premise), for applications that send email without a user logging in, and the customer uses Gmail.

The most recent customer I did this for isn't even using an MFP of any brand to scan with, just desktop scanners that feed an EDM solution, which needs to send emails as part of an approval workflow.

FYI - aspmx.l.google.com does not work for free gmail accounts, only for g-suite members. Does it work with you with free googlemail account?

Considering the fact that the "Restricted Gmail SMTP server" aspmx.l.google.com does not require authentication, there is no way that it can tel the difference. And yes I have used it with my own Gmail account. I have also been told by a tech in Germany that it does not work there at all, so it might be regional.

First of all Thanks to all for guiding me to resolve my issue.
As i told that i have two machines at same premises 1. Mp2352sp and 2. Mp3351.
Scan to email using yahoo smtp and port 465 with ssl 'on' smtp authentication is 'on' and working perfectly on 1. Mp2352sp. When i cofigure 2. Mp3351sp with same yahoo smtp and port 465 but ssl option is not available and smtp authentication is 'on' 2. Mp3351sp. After entering yahoo smtp when i did connection test susuccessful. When i did scan to email, on scanned file status shows transmitting for about 1 minute and then 'transmission error check network settings' shows.
After that i try company's smtp 'mail.xxxxxxxx.com.pk' port '25' smtp authentication is 'on' smtp connection test successful but when i sent scan job to email same status shows in scanned file status 'transmitting' after 1 minute same error 'tramission failed check network settings' shows.
Kindly guide me.

Very simple, MP 3252 supports SMTP over SSL MP 3351 is an older model and does not. To use yahoo, turn on support for less secure sign in, see my previous post.

As for your company SMTP, you may have to contact the support team for who ever provides the email service and find out what needs to be done to set up a non SSL relay server.
