[Error Code] Ricoh C2550 with internal finisher C2550

    Hi all,

Customer has this unit thowing many SC796 and Jam code 248 and 996. I know it points to the finisher. I've cleaned all sensors, Checked motor, solenoid and switch operations in the front of the finisher. Can anyone point me to a solution? I've been told the finisher is not the greatest, but there has to be a fix.

I remember having to sand something down by the exit rollers.

The early internal finishers were almost as troublesome as the ones that hung on the end of the machine. The mechanism used to stack the paper for stapling tends to wear out. It is a pain to replace.

I have had plenty of these that have had the loom between the staple head and the logic board fail.
They break right next to where the cable ties hold the loom together.
The wires inside snap but the sleeve looks ok.

Only way to find it is to do point to point on the loom - takes time...

Bottom line is these finishers are real POS!
